By choosing extremely high-quality materials, we significantly extend the life span of the products, which is the most important point in the life cycle assessment.
The production in Europe with its short routes is far superior to the goods with the long transport routes from Asia, Africa or the USA in all ecological matters.
We want to know which materials are used, where they come from and under what working conditions they were fabricated.
Knowing the people in production personally and knowing the conditions under which they work guarantees us consistently high quality and makes us feel good.
Energy is consumed in every production process and waste is generated. Our boards are built with a maximum amount of manual labor; therefore we can reduce the material surplus to a minimum and there is no automation-related production waste.
Production waste that cannot be recycled, is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner in a state-of-the-art incineration plant with ceramic 4D filtration. The energy obtained is used to heat the environmentally friendly hot water presses. Our boards are pressed at half the temperature as usual – but with a pressing time that is twice as long. This approach is not only energy-saving, it is also particularly gentle on materials.
We have also dealt extensively with the end of a life cycle. It has been shown that it makes little sense to separate the material layers and recycle them. Upcycling is the alternative that does not consume any further resources, but converts the existing ones. For example, old wakeboards can be turned into skate longboards, and snowboards or kiteboards can be turned into lamps or wine bottle holders.
With our late order deadline for our dealers, we reduce overproduction, can keep prices stable and do not put our partners under pressure. We won’t end the pre-orders until the end of the season. Depending on how the market develops, the dealers will then pre-order the new boards. We then have a realistic base for planning production. With the pre-orders, a maximum of additional 15% will be produced for our warehouse.
For the future, we hope that more people will think about where and under what conditions their new favourite toy will be produced before they buy.
